Daily Doodle: Lucy Danziger

Song of the Day: Donna the Prima Donna by Dion

Musical Pipe Dream: My bangs are gelled into a bouffant and I’m wearing a fitted suit with a skinny tie. I’m singing into a big, chunky microphone and swaying to the 2’s and 4’s. When I shake my legs, the women and men in the audience go wild.

Blurb 1/365: Every time I encounter a person, I treat it like I’m making a first impression; I only make first impressions.

Daily Doodle: Nuchi on Parade (Commissioned by and drawn for Nuchi!)

Song of the Day: Rapper’s Delight by The Sugarhill Gang

Musical Pipe Dream: I’m on BART and a few kids onboard at the Lake Merrit station with this drum beat playing out loud on one of their phones. They start rapping and the all of us other passengers start to get into it. Most of us are clapping and some are recording video with their phones. When Master Gee’s intro comes in and he says, “On and on and on on and on”, I do a glide step in a box form. My face gets close to one of the cameras at the second step and you can see my big eyeball before I slide away.

Blurb 1/365: Love life.

Daily Doodle: Sailor Diana

Song of the Day: Nothin’ Wrong by The Flight of the Conchords with Adrian Pryor

Musical Pipe Dream: I’m one of four people on strings. We’re all in a line on stage and I’m on the most left. We’re seated on stools that allow our feet to touch the floor and when we pick up to double time, I stomp my left foot on the floor to the beat.

Blurb 1/365: The older I get, the more I know. The more I know, the more I can cope. The more I can cope, the more I can bear. Everything I can bear will eventually get me there.

Daily Doodles: Then and Now

Song of the Day: So Fresh, So Clean by Outkast

Musical Pipe Dream: I’m doing a dance that consists of rapidly flapping my arms while my hands are hovering around my waist. The rapid arm flapping forces my shoulders back and forth giving the illusion of my heart pumping out of my chest.

Blurb 1/365: Hey hey hey, pick your play.

Song of the Day: The World Is Getting Smaller by Mark Dinning

Musical Pipe Dream: I’m slightly outside of the spotlight. You can see enough of the skirt of my dress to see me swaying to the beat and tapping my foot. I’m harmonizing and singing backup.

Blurb 1/365: The day that one learns to appreciate life is the day that one starts living.

Daily Doodle: Up Close and Personal

Song of the Day: You Send Me by Sam Cooke

Musical Pipe Dream: I’m sitting in front of glass jars of various sizes filled with different volumes of water. I’m armed with a pair of drumsticks and keeping a sweet toned beat. My singing blends with the vibrations of the water and glass.

Blurb 1/365: Setting a schedule with deadlines is the only way anything will happen. Here I go.

Daily Doodle: Me circa 1996

Song of the Day: Woo Hah!! Got You All in Check by Busta Rhymes

Musical Pipe Dream: I’m wearing puffy clothes on an almost empty BART train. I’ve got my headphones on and I’m staring into the distance. A kid is using the windows in the car doors as mirrors to practice his tutting skills. The car sways to and fro. Instead of a Musical Pipe Dream I could call this a Musical Memory because it happened. It’s the little things that shine in my memory.

Blurb 1/365: I just realized that I am, and always have been, a hard ass bitch.

Daily Doodle: Portrait – Little D: The Mini Scientist

Song of the Day: Supernova by Powerman 5000

Musical Pipe Dream: In this musical pipe dream, I’m singing lead. My body is possessed by the music and I require prescription goggles in lieu of my glasses in order for them to stay on my face. I’m sweaty and I’m owning it.

Blurb 1/365: I’ve been slowly but surely (shirley) ridding my life of filth. It’s been difficult, because wallowing in it became quite a habit. Bad habits are difficult to break, but it is possible. Filthy anxiety, go away. Filthy unnecessary guilt, go away. Filthy negative thoughts, go away. Filthy people that usurp my positive energy, go away. As I slowly rid myself of filth, all that’s left is what’s worth living for.
