Daily Doodle: Sonic & Tails – May 1990

Song of the Day: My Body’s a Zombie for You by Dead Man’s Bones

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2csLfBAGpPM

Musical Pipe Dream: A children’s choir is singing and lifting a rainbow parachute over us. I’m sitting in the grass armed with one cartwheel drum stick and hug the drum as I keep time. Another person has a pair of symbols and crash them together when appropriate. There is a man hunched over a tiny piano.

Blurb 1/365: “What can’t Ryan Gosling do?” – tweeted by @Readblood

Song of the Day: Oh! Carol by Neil Sedaka

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHm7PnCCd4E

Musical Pipe Dream: I’m singing backup and wearing a big, puffy dress that looks like a layered cake. My legs are sticking out like toothpicks and I’m wearing pointy pumps with a short heel. The other backup singers and I are swaying back and forth on the 2s and 4s. We are wearing matching headbands.

Blurb 1/365: I just want to drum, draw, and dream.

Daily Doodle: Loud Dad!

Song of the Day: Monsters by Sons and Daughters

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDceN_RWsHk

(Note: For some reason, this YouTube post doesn’t start until 13 seconds in. If you listen, stay tuned for at least 13 seconds! :O))

Musical Pipe Dream: James and I are singing a duet. He’s on guitar and I’m on drums. There are three people in the audience that are going crazy on the dance floor. The other seven on-lookers are sitting at circular tables with lit up snow globes in the center. They’re eating peanuts.

Blurb 1/365: Cargo just let out a sigh while lounging next to me. James is close by and playing a game on the computer. Life is good.

Daily Doodle: I wonder if mochi likes me as much as I like mochi?

Song of the Day: Sekai Wa Futari No Tame Ni by Naomi Sagara

Musical Pipe Dream: My mom is singing and swaying in the middle of the living room while my dad is sitting on the couch and playing the acoustic guitar. My sisters and I are lounging around the dining table and we chime in for the harmony. There are plentiful snacks and drinks at the table. My brothers-in-law and husband are playing a game of cards. My nieces are dancing and holding hands. The dogs are napping and curled up into little croissant shapes.

Blurb 1/365: It was kinda crazy, so I just decided to take that time to talk to the Universe.

Daily Doodle: Quantum Leap!

Song of the Day: Ford Mustang by Serge Gainsbourg

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PT6U57QkUe8

Musical Pipe Dream: I’m wearing a pinstripe, three-piece suit and black polished shoes that come to a point at the toe. Under a beat up top hat, my hair is parted down the middle and slicked down with Dapper Dan. Thick black soot lines my eyes, fingertips, and cuticles. My shirt cuffs are unbuttoned and I’m pounding my hands down on an old piano with yellowed keys. The piano is against the wall and my back is to the rest of the room.

Blurb 1/365: “Butterfly in the sky, I can go twice as high.”

Daily Doodle: Hot Air Balloon Ride

Song of the Day: In the Mood by The Glenn Miller Band with a solo by Tex Beneke

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bR3K5uB-wMA

Musical Pipe Dream: I’m on a cruise ship and two stepping it with the rest of the orchestra. We’re synced and our moves and sound are on point. The lights are down low and the reflections of the stage lights shine off of all the brass and create golden rays all over the room.

Daily Blurb 1/365: Genuine laughter is powerful medicine.

Song of the Day: Kick, Push by Lupe Fiasco

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gl83mI69nX4

Musical Pipe Dream: I’m kickin’, pushin’, and coastin’ to the nearby Wal-Mart to pick up a Snapple Raspberry Iced Tea.

Blurb 1/365: I love how Lupe Fiasco confidently wears his glasses. Wearing glasses because he has to, sportin’ gold wire rims, and confirming that glasses look good.
